Lucia Fee’s Bat Leads Geneva Offense at Franciscan; 18-8, 7-3

Fee

teubenville, OH – Geneva opened play up north by sweeping Franciscan 18-8 (6 innings), 7-3 raising its record to 8-4 overall. Lucia Fee (Wampum, PA / Mohawk) led Geneva’s offense with four hits in five at bats including a home run, driving home nine in game one.

“We didn’t play our best softball but we continue to do good things on offense,” said head coach Van Zanic. “We pitched well in game two and did a better job catching the ball. It was nice to see the middle of our order continue especially Lucia and Laura Beck.”

Fee continued to find success at the plate in game two with a sacrifice bunt and fly, batting in two runners. Laura Beck (Canfield, OH / Canfield) and Hannah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA / Avonworth) caught the contagious hitting, each with doubles.

Emily Keslar (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Connellsville) pitched a complete game in the 18-8 win. On the night, Keslar struck out six batters.

The Golden Tornadoes have a short turn around before hosting Houghton Wednesday, March 23 in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
