Track and Field Compete in the Grove City Track Meet

Grove City, PA – The men’s and women’s Geneva track and field team traveled to Grove City College on Saturday, March 19 to compete. This was the team’s first meet since its return from their spring break meet and its second of the outdoor season.

Geneva men took the top three finishes in the 800 meters: Josh Duffie (Canton, OH / Glenoak), Andrew Dominic (Pittsburgh, PA / Avonworth) and Jacob Ames (Erie, PA / PA Cyber) who finished with the times of 2:08.07, 2:08.08, and 2:09.12.

Alex Parker (Meadville, PA / Meadville ) finished first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.78 followed closely in second by Michael Savino (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area ) who finished in 16.44.

Jumper Jesse Garvia (Mechanicsville, MD / Chopticon High) placed in two different events at the meet. He won the long jump event with his 5.97 meter (approx. 19-feet-6) finish while finishing second in the high jump event with a height of 1.73 meters (5-7).

Colt Trammel (Macedon, NY / Victor Central ) won the shot put event at 12.60 meters (41-4) while his teammate Jacob Barringer (Delta, OH / Toledo Christian) won the discus at 38.10 meters (125-0).

In women’s action, Rebecca Miller (Spring Grove, PA / Spring Grove Area) won the 3,000 meter run with her finishing time of 11:52.72.

Morgan Peaco (Zelienople, PA / Seneca Valley) won the women’s high jump event with her jump of 1.47 meters (4-10). Justice Newland (Lebanon, PA / Lebanon) won the pole vault at 3.05 meters (10-0).

Rebekah Rupert (Greenville, PA / Greenville) won the javelin at 31.66 meters (103-10). Sarah Foy (Rockwood, PA / Rockwood Area) finished second at 9.90 meters (32-6).

The Geneva Track and Field teams will move on to compete at Bethany College on Saturday April 2 starting at 11 a.m. This will be their first of four track meets that the outdoor Geneva track and field teams will compete in before traveling back to Bethany College for the President’s Athletic Conference Championship meet in the end of April.
