Latrobe, PA – Geneva College baseball traveled to St. Vincent and split their two seven inning games on Saturday, April 16 with an 8-5 loss and 6-3 win. The split results sends Geneva’s record to 8-19, 3-14 President’s Athletic Conference (PAC).

Tyler Pagaduan (Voorhess, NJ/Eastern Regional) did all he could for Geneva in the first game, but it wasn't enough to get past St. Vincent, as Geneva lost 8-5. Pagaduan racked up two RBIs in the game and doubled in the third inning. St. Vincent never trailed after scoring four runs in the first on two errors, a fielder's choice, and an RBI single. One run in the top of the third helped Geneva close its deficit to 4-1 but it would not be enough to catch up to the lead.

Jeff Parker (Green Brook, NJ/Timothy Christian) ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in 5 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.

The second game would be a different story as Geneva would win with just five hits in a 6-3 victory. Both teams had opportunities, but it was Geneva that eventually took advantage to win.

Joey Luciana (Oakmont, PA/St. Joseph) racked up three RBIs on three hits as he singled in the first inning and doubled in the third and fourth innings. Geneva didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the third inning, on an RBI double by Luciana.

Caleb Metzler (Lititz, PA/Warwick) got the win for Geneva as he allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked three, and surrendered six hits.

Geneva cemented its lead with four runs in the fourth. A solo blast by Aaron Witman (Greencastle, PA/Shalom Christian Academy) ignited the offense that was followed up by Luciana's double, which brought home Richie Rowe (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) and Pagaduan.

Geneva baseball will play again on Tuesday April 19 at 1 and 3 p.m. against Thiel.
