Thiel Rolls Over Geneva Baseball 15-5

team

Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College hung tough early on Wednesday, but Thiel pulled away late for the 15-5 victory. The loss drops the Golden Tornadoes to a 13-22 overall record on the season with a 4-17 President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) record.

Tyler Pagaduan (Voorhess, NJ/Eastern Regional) paced Geneva’s offense with five hits. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third, fourth, eighth, and ninth innings. In the bottom of the first, Geneva grabbed the early 1-0 lead as Pagaduan got things going with a double. After a stolen base by Pagaduan, he scored on a single by Joey Luciana (Oakmont, PA/St. Joseph).

The game's only lead change went to Thiel thanks to a second inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on a two-run home run.

Two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped the Golden Tornadoes close the deficit to 5-3 but that was as close as it got as Thiel added two more runs in the fifth and built its lead the rest of the way.

The Golden Tornadoes will play at home for the last time in the 2016 season on Friday, April 29 as they take on visiting Westminster College at 4:30 p.m.
