Beaver Falls, PA -Six hits weren't enough for Geneva as it lost 5-10 a single game slugfest to Westminster on Friday at home. The loss moves Geneva to 4-18 in the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) with their overall record 13-23.

Joey Luciana (Oakmont, PA/St. Joseph) racked up six RBIs on two hits with a double in the seventh inning and homer in the ninth.

Westminster went ahead for good in the second, scoring two runs on an RBI single. The Golden Tornadoes scored single runs in the second and the fifth. Five runs in the bottom of the seventh helped close the deficit to 13-7 as an error, a three-run double by Luciana, and an RBI single by Aaron Witman (Greencastle, PA/Shalom Christian Academy) fueled the comeback.

After Luciana’s three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth closed the gap to 15-10 but Westminster was able to shut down the rally with a strikeout.

Caleb Metzler (Lititz, PA/Warwick) was charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in 4 1/3 innings as walked and struck out two batters.

The Golden Tornadoes will head to Westminster on Saturday, April 30 at 1 and 3 p.m. to face off in a seven inning double header.
