Geneva Men’s Tennis Wins Tight Match Over Thiel 5-4

Beaver Falls –Geneva was able to outlast Thiel’s, earning a 5-4 decision over the Tomcats on Thursday, April 14 at Blackhawk high school. The win moves the tennis record to 2-7 overall with 2-5 being their President’s Athletic Conference record (PAC).

"It feels great to get another win, especially being able to come back strong after a hard loss Wednesday,” said head coach Mandee Craft. “Even the matches we lost today were so hard fought.”

Two of the three doubles matches won their games 8-3 against the Tomcats. Ethan Stahl (Beaver Falls, PA / BCCS) was one of the doubles members to win his single match as well winning 6-1 and 6-4 respectively. David Streit (Mechanicsburg, PA / Mechanicsburg Area) also won his doubles match as well as his single match 6-1, 6-4 decision respectively.

“The guys left everything out there, and a coach can't ask for more than that. I'm so proud of our team," said Craft.

The tennis team will travel to Grove City on Saturday April 16 at 10 a.m. hoping to create a conference win streak.
