Erie, PA – The Geneva men’s tennis team traveled to Erie, Pennsylvania on Friday to compete in its first President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship match since being reinstated as a varsity sport at Geneva College.

”Tough day at PACs,” said head coach Mandee Craft. “We had our chances, especially at third doubles and first singles. Eric played an amazing match, serving for the set against the best player in our conference. And overall today, we scored more against our opponents than we did earlier in the season.”

Eric Abbott (Seven Fields, PA / Senca Valley) took his singles match to 6-3, 7-5 as he faced off against Grove City’s Jon Graber who is the number one single in the conference. The third doubles pair of Ethan Stahl (Beaver Falls, PA / BCCS) and Caleb Hoal (Montrose, PA / Montrose) also did their best for the Golden Tornadoes as they took their match to a 9-7 loss.

“Improvement was our main goal this season, and that proves we’ve done just that. It’s hard to see the first season end, bet I can’t wait to see what this group does in the future.”
