Women’s Track Fits in One Last Meet before PAC Championships

Slippery Rock, PA – On Thursday, April 21 the Geneva women’s track and field team traveled to Slippery Rock University for the Slippery Rock Open meet. Three additional President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) teams were present: Westminster College, Grove City College, and Thiel College. The Golden Tornadoes finished third overall among competitors.

Sophomore sprinter Jessica Kelosky (Fombell, PA / Riverside) competed in the in the 100 meter dash event and finished seventh with a time of 12.74 seconds.

Sophomore distance runner Rebecca Miller (Spring Grove, PA / Spring Grove Area) had an impressive day competing in the 3,000 meter steeplechase event. Her time of 12:50.16 was enough to place second.

Junior thrower Sarah Foy (Rockwood, PA / Rockwood Area) finished seventh in the hammer throw event with her 36.84 meter throw (120.86 feet). She would also finish ninth in the shot put at 11.23 meters (36.84 feet). Junior jumper Morgan Peaco (Zelienople, PA / Seneca Valley) finished eighth in the high jump with a 1.48 meter (4.85) jump.

This was the last meet that the Golden Tornadoes will compete in before they head to the PAC outdoor championship on Friday, April 29th at Bethany College (WV).
