Geneva Adds Online Bachelor’s in Aging Services

The Geneva College Adult Degree Programs is now offering a fully online Bachelor of Professional Studies in Aging Services. Students pursuing this degree prepare for gainful employment as managers of the aging services workforce, helping to provide for the well-being and safety of individuals who need support while living in residential care and community-based settings.  

Those interested may apply now, and courses for the major begin in August of 2016.

Geneva’s aging services program includes study of biblical values in non-medical direct care services and support, planning and evaluation, and aging services law and administration. Skills developed through the program include wellness and adjustment in older adults, case management, professional ethics, and policies and programs for aging populations.

Qualified aging services managers are in demand. Social and community service management is classified as a high priority occupation in Pennsylvania, with a projected growth of 11.5% by 2022. And Western Pennsylvania is an attractive area for senior living, with an aging population, strong spiritual community, high number of hospitals per capita and low cost of living.

Specific career opportunities include, but are not limited to, working as an assisted living manager, home health team manager, nursing home activities manager, adult day center director and other mid-level positions.

Geneva ′s Adult Degree Programs offers bachelor’s degrees in an accelerated format designed for busy adults. Students pursuing an online bachelor’s degree in aging services can complete Geneva’s program in as few as 16 months.
