Geneva College Announces First Athletic Hall of Fame Class

Beaver Falls, PA – There are not many colleges across the United States that have the athletic history of Geneva College. Playing its first football game in 1890 and the first ever college basketball game in the United States in 1893, Geneva College has a tradition that is second to none. With all the years of intercollegiate athletics on College Hill, it stands to reason that there have been numerous greats that have highlighted their talents for over a century.

Geneva College and the Golden Tornadoes athletic department have decided to highlight those athletes that achieved greatness with the creation of the Geneva College Athletic Hall of Fame. The first class will be honored at Geneva College on November 12^th during halftime of Geneva’s regular season football finale against Westminster College.

Recommended Criteria for Nominees:

Graduate of Geneva College or demonstrated extenuating circumstances that prevented degree completion.
Graduated 10+ years ago.
A coach or administrator must be 5+ years from retiring or leaving Geneva College.

Recommended Criteria for Nominators

Nominations can be made by members of the Geneva College Athletic Hall of Fame committee, alumni, staff, faculty, trustees and members of the general public.
No self-nomination.
A nomination will remain active for three years. A second nomination can be made after three years.
The nomination will consist of a completed nomination form and any other materials in support of the nomination such as a biographical sketch of achievements, etc.
