Bethany, WV – The Golden Tornadoes are now 2-5, 1-1 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) after Bethany College’s tri-match Tuesday evening. Bethany swept Geneva 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-16) in game one of the night. Geneva didn’t stay in the loss column long responding with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-19) win over the Thiel Tomcats.

Geneva kept Bethany in close range in the first half of the first two sets but unforced errors helped the Bison with its sweep. Senior Olivia Test (Negley, OH/Heartland Christian) found seven kills against the hosts. Senior Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield, OH/Kennedy Catholic) led the Golden Tornadoes defense with 11 digs. Freshmen setter Alaina Lytle (Warren, OH/Lakeview) earned 14 assists in the three sets.

Game two was a different story as the Golden Tornadoes collected themselves and responded with a three-set conference win over the Thiel Tomcats. Sophomore Sydney McNulty (State College, PA/State College Area) and senior Grace Hayes (Westminster, MD/Westminster) hit for double-digit kills over the Thiel Tomcats. McNulty led with 11 with a .310 hitting percentage, Hayes with 10 reaching a .304 hitting percentage. On the service line, junior Marissa Naples (Cortland, OH/Lakeview) tallied five aces. Senior McKala King (Uniontown, OH/Lake) led the defense with 11 digs. Lytle set for 26 assists. As a team, the Golden Tornadoes protected the net with ten team blocks.
