mccrackenBeaver Falls, PA – After a 2-0 week marking the team’s eighth straight win, junior captain Gib McCracken (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Beaver County Christian) was selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) defensive player of the week for the second time this season. Geneva has earned this honor three of the last four weeks with sophomore goalkeeper Luke Nolan (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) was honored last week.

McCracken had a pair of goals last week for Geneva College. He converted a penalty kick in the 73rd minute during last Wednesday’s 1-0 shutout over Alfred before tallying another good penalty kick in the 80th minute of Saturday’s 2-0 shutout against Waynesburg. The Geneva defense limited its opponents to just 11 shots, and six shots on goal, last week.

The Golden Tornadoes are set for two conference games this week. On Tuesday, October 18 they travel to Bethany College for a 3:30 p.m. start time before hosting Thomas More on Saturday, October 22 for the program’s senior night celebration at 7 p.m.
