Geneva Men’s Soccer Scheduled to Face Franklin & Marshall in NCAA National Tournament

As a part of our celebration, Geneva College will be hosting a Golden Tornadoes Tailgate Party at 3:00 p.m. just prior to Friday’s 5:00 p.m. kick-off on Franklin & Marshall’s campus in the 1787 space, located near Tylus Field. The event is complimentary but registration is required. Chick-Fil-A will be served. 


Beaver Falls, PA – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the 2016 National Tournament brackets Monday, November 07. As the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Champions, the Geneva men’s soccer program earned the program’s first-ever automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Geneva College Golden Tornadoes (16-3-1) are scheduled to face the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats (12-3-4) on Friday, November 11 at 5 p.m.

Geneva enters the match with the momentum of a 14-game winning streak. Abel Carleton led the Presidents’ Athletic Conference in goals with 14, Gib McCracken finished seventh in goals scored with nine, Liam O’Halloran top ten with seven goals. Jake Broadwick was tabbed fourth highest in assists with six.

Goalkeeper Luke Nolan earned the league’s top goals against average (0.81) and save percentage (.812) posting 53 saves while allowing only 13 goals.

The hosts, Franklin & Marshall, are the season’s best offensive team in the Centennial Conference as the top team in goals scored (20) and assists (27).

Jason Tonelli finished second as the Centennial Conference’s top goal scorer tallying ten goals. Robert Maze also reach conference chart highs as number six in goals scored with seven. Ugo Okolie finished the season as the second highest in assists with eight.

In the net, Dave Reingold’s .852 save percentage earned second highest rankings allowing only 13 goals against, saving 75.

Tickets will be on sale at the gate; $6 for for adults, $4 for students, $2 for children.
