Geneva Women Recognized as 8th in the Conference Preseason Poll

Beaver Falls, PA – The President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) released the preseason poll for the 2016-17 basketball season on Friday, November 11. The Geneva College Golden Tornadoes were selected as eighth in the conference after finishing 9-17, 6-12 in the conference.

Three players were recognized by the conference as players to watch for the season. Sophomore guard Jodie Carlson (Winona Lake, IN/Warsaw), sophomore guard Callie Ford (New Middletown, OH/Springfield Local), and junior guard Lydia Songer (Wexford PA/Pine-Richland).

Carlson finished the season last year with 227 points overall, averaging 8.7 a game. She averaged 3.8 rebounds a game. Ford finished the season with 271 points overall, averaging 10.4 points a game. Ford also was the second leading stealer for the program with 31 steals on the season. Songer finished out last season with 227 points, also averaging 8.7 points a game.

The women’s basketball team will have their season opener on Wednesday, November 16 at home as they host Wooster College at 7 p.m. in Methany fieldhouse.
