Twelve Hours of Christmas

You are invited to celebrate Twelve Hours of Christmas on Friday, December 9 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.!

Events for Geneva students, faculty and staff are scheduled throughout the day, including caroling with cookies and cocoa, a holiday- themed photo studio, a campus-wide scavenger hunt, and much more.

Candygrams will once again be sold to raise money for the 12 Hours of Christmas. Sales start Tuesday, November 29th and go thru Friday, December 9th. You can purchase Candygrams for 50 cents in Alexander Hall during lunch hours.  They will be delivered on the Friday of each week.

Staff - During the day, wear Christmas attire and you can wear jeans!

9 a.m. Christmas Activity Packet Emailed to all departments and offices (Turn in completed packet’s to HR in Old Main.)
This is a group activity, and prizes will be awarded to the first office to turn in their packet and to the office with the most completed packet.

9:45 a.m. Community Prayer – Old Main lobby
President Dr. Calvin L. Troup will lead the community in a time of prayer.

10 a.m. Caroling, Cookies & Cocoa – Old Main lobby
Cookies, cocoa and caroling led by Drs. Terry Thomas and Doug Bradbury provide a special time on campus.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Christmas Fun at Lunch – Alexander Dining Hall
Swipe your card as usual for lunch and join in the fun in the Dining Hall.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Christmas Photo Studio – Benedum Room
Backdrops, props and photographers will be available to take your memorable group Christmas picture with coworkers and friends.

11 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Find the Christmas Characters – Throughout Campus
Students can participate in a treasure hunt to find Christmas characters hidden on campus. All-student emails will provide clues.

1 - 3  p.m. Reindeer Games – Skye Lounge
This will be a time where students, along with faculty and staff from all parts of campus can come and play games in Skye Lounge.

3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Gingerbread House Building – Skye Lounge
Students are encouraged to try their hand at delicious architecture!

4:45 - 6:30 p.m. Community Dinner – Alexander Dining Hall
Tickets are required for ALL faculty and staff, and may be obtained at the Candygram table or in the Events Office in the lower level of Alexander Hall (8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. except lunch hours) by Wednesday, December 9th at 12 noon.  Meal vouchers obtained through Pioneer can be exchanged for Christmas dinner tickets at no additional cost.  (This applies to immediate family members only: spouse and children living at home.)  Employees who do not have meal vouchers may purchase tickets to the dinner for $5/adults and $3/children 10 and under. These are Premium Meals, and so may be purchased for $7.75 at the door.

6:30 p.m. Come Hear a Story – McCartney Library
This is a time for young and old alike to relax and hear Christmas season stories featuring the Geneva Reading Series.

. Christmas Movie: The Santa Clause– Skye Lounge
Everyone is welcome! Enjoy a fun family film that will surely put you in the Christmas spirit. Feel free to bring blankets and pillows.
