Geneva Men’s Basketball Defeats Bethany College at Home 81-77; Remains Undefeated in Conference Play

Beaver Falls Pa – Geneva's men’s basketball team snuck past the Bison from Bethany College 81-77 on Saturday to remain undefeated in conference play after beating Washington and Jefferson on the road earlier this week. The Golden Tornadoes moved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference after their fourth consecutive victory.

Geneva led Bethany 35-34 at half time, but lost the lead to the visitors early in the second half to go down 40-35. With 12 minutes left on the clock, freshman Ethan Moose hit a jumper to tie the game at 51. Half a minute later he would convert his two free throws to give Geneva the final lead change of the game. Moose would end the game with nine points and six rebounds.

Sophomore Danny Torok was the nights leading shooter with 25 points includong seven three pointers. Torok was 7-8 beyond the arch; 9-10 overall from the field. Junior Jimmy Leichliter had 17 points coming from three shots beyond the arch and going 4-4 at the free throw line.

Senior Chaese Vaudrin put together a solid line of his own for the home team with his 11 rebounds, six assists, and going 7-10 from the free throw line.

The Golden Tornadoes will hope to improve upon their four-game win streak when they host Thiel College next Saturday, December 10 at 1 pm when they play the opening act to the women.
