Women’s Indoor Track & Field Standout at Mount Union

Beaver Falls, PA – On Saturday, February 4 the Geneva College women’s indoor track & field Golden Tornadoes showcased standout performances at Mount Union’s Jim Wuske Invitational. Once again, the Golden Tornadoes shook up the school’s record book setting new and improved records and times on the track and in the field.

 “The women continue to have a great season,” said head coach Phil Thompson. “Lydia and Morgan led us in the field with some great jumps. Nicole and Jess led us on the track with some fast times. Nicole broke her own school record in the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 8.94, which moves her up in the national rankings to fifth.”

Nicole Bartoletta (Monaca, PA/Central Valley) has broken a school record every meet during the 2017 indoor season. This weekend, Bartoletta moved her national ranking to fifth setting the Geneva’s 60 meter hurdles indoor record to 8.94 seconds.

Jessica Kelosky (Fombell, PA/Riverside) also had outstanding performance on the track placing seventh in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.11 seconds. In addition, she placed eighth in the 200 meter dash finishing in 27.37 seconds.

In the field, Lydia Swartzbaugh (Spartansburg, PA/Spartansburg) placed fourth in the triple jump with final measurement of 9.82 meters. Teammate, Morgan Peaco (Zelienople, PA/Seneca Valley) placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.52 meters.

Up next, the Golden Tornadoes will travel to Ohio to compete in the Tiffin Dragan Invite on Saturday, February 11.
