The Bearcats bullpen kept Geneva’s offense quiet grabbing an 8-1 lead after three innings of play. Geneva scored three runs in the fourth inning thanks to a fielder's choice by junior Dan Staub(Oil City, PA/Oil City), a single by sophomore Dillon Taggart (Livingston Manor, NY/Livingston Manor Central), and a single by junior Tyler Pagaduan (
Geneva brought it close in the seventh inning but they were able to cut the lead as the visitors were able to hold on for the 8-7 victory. Geneva had nine hits in the game. Sophomore Jericho Hilling (Willamsburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) and sophomore Joey Luciana (Oakmont, PA/St. Joseph) each collected multiple hits for Geneva with Pagaduan and Staub each driving in two runs.
Game two followed much the same pattern for the home team as they dropped an 18-4 decision after going deep into their bullpen.
Saint Vincent showed offensive dominance in two hard innings for the home team. The Bearcats were able to put away seven runs in the fourth and 10 in the sixth to put the majority of their 18 runs away coming from 10 hits.
Geneva was able to put some offensive together coming from nine hits resulting in four runs. Luciana was able to connect in three of his four plate appearances resulting in two singles and a double allowing two of the four runs to develop.
Junior Forrest Beighley (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) also made an impact in game two with his plate appearances. He was able to connect on two appearances for two singles.
The Golden Tornadoes will be on the road for the rest of this week as they travel to three different conference schools in the next seven days. On Monday, they will play Saint Vincent for a single nine inning game at 4 p.m. On
