Latrobe, Pa. – On Monday, April 3 the Saint Vincent Bearcats defeated the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes to close the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) baseball series. Dillion Taggart’s big day wasn’t enough as Saint Vincent (8-9, 4-2 PAC) handed Geneva (6-16, 0-8 PAC)
Saint Vincent recorded five runs in the second and added three more in the third inning. Down 8-0, Geneva made its mark on the scoreboard with a run in the fifth. The Bearcats answered with another run in the bottom of the fifth.
Top of the seventh, down eight runs (9-1), Geneva’s bats came alive with four hits and help from a Bearcat error to score four runs. Dillon Taggart (Livingston Manor, NY/Livingston Manor Central) started things off with a double to right field. Tyler Pagaduan (
Despite Geneva’s offensive momentum, the Bearcats continued to find hits adding two more runs in the bottom of the seventh, expanding their lead to 11-5.
Geneva added one more run in the ninth off Rowe’s bat to bring home Luciana for the 11-6 final.
Taggart had a big day going 3-3 at the plate tallying a walk, double and two runs.
