Cameron Unrath Does it Again; Men’s Track & Field Finish Regular Season at Slippery Rock

Slippery Rock, Pa. - On Thursday, April 20, the Geneva College men’s track and field team travelled to Slippery Rock University for the SRU Open. Grove City, Point Park, Westminster, and Kent State where among the un-scored competition.

Three men had a particularly satisfying day at the meet. Senior Cameron Unrath reset Geneva’s school record in the 100 meters, which he had just broken on Wednesday, April 12 at Geneva’s Invitational. Unrath ran a 10.77 second time to place fourth. The men’s 4x4 squad finished second overall with a time of 3:22. Senior Dalton Paxson placed second in the 110 meter hurdles, with a time of 15.22 seconds. Senior Isaac Barringer also had a good day, gaining a personal record in the Discus event.

“This gave us the confidence we needed going into the PAC Championships next week,” said head coach Thompson. “It should be a great meet for us and being at home should be an advantage. They have worked hard all year for this meet and it will be fun to see what they accomplish. I am very proud of the work that they have put in and we are hitting our stride at the right time.”

On Friday, April 28 Geneva is set to host the 2017 two-day Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Championships.
