BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Students from The Genevans choir will present their annual fundraising show entitled “Songs from the Movies” on Friday and Saturday, February 9 and 10, 2018. The programs begin at 7 p.m. in Geneva College’s John White Chapel, located on the second floor of Old Main (note: Our historic Old Main, home to the John White Chapel, is not handicapped accessible.). Tickets are $3 for students and $7 for adults and may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling Geneva College’s Music Department at (724) 847-6660.
“Songs from the Movies” is an evening full of music from a variety of classic films. This event attracts an audience of all ages as students perform numbers from their favorite movies in creative and original ways. Proceeds from the shows will benefit The Genevans’ spring tour to Michigan in March 2018 and their three-week international tour to Europe in May.
Senior Communication and Music double major Benjamin Kennedy, the director of the concerts, says “This year’s show promises to be an exciting evening of music. With upbeat group numbers and gentle solos from various films, the show will surprise those who attend with the quality of music we present at such a low and affordable cost. Members of the choir are hard at work preparing these pieces, and the audience won’t be disappointed.”
The Genevans choir exists to glorify God and minister to people through the gift of music. Founded in 1938, the choir continues a rich heritage of choral singing dating from the early years of the college.
