(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College invites high school students involved in the college search process to attend Open House on either Monday, February 19, or Friday, March 16, starting at 9:15 a.m.  Prospective college students can experience what college life is like and learn about various aspects of the college.

Geneva College Open House events provide high school students with a glimpse into student life with groups of other prospective students. During an Open House, students may tour campus, explore majors, learn about life as a Geneva College student both in and out of the classroom, enjoy a meal in the dining hall, experience a class and learn about the admissions and financial aid process. Lunch at the dining hall is a great way for students to engage in conversation and build relationships. Athletes will have time to talk with coaches and meet other athletes.

“Visiting is the best way to find out if Geneva is right for you,” says Associate Vice President of Enrollment Dave Layton. “Reading material and looking at campus online is great, but there is nothing like seeing Geneva with your own eyes and meeting admission counselors, faculty and staff in person.” According to research, no decision as important as college choice or as simple as what to eat can be made from a purely rational perspective; emotion plays an important role in decision making. Visiting a college gives students both the rational and emotional information they need to make an informed decision about attending a great college.

Check-in for Open House is from 8:45 - 9:15 a.m. in Alexander Hall. Students and staff will be on hand to assist students in finding parking spots and the check-in location. The scheduled activities for the day will conclude around 3 p.m. Open House is sponsored by Geneva’s Admissions Office located on the lower level of Alexander Dining Hall. Information and registration is at http://www.geneva.edu/visit.
