(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) — Geneva College hosts its inaugural STEAM Night event on March 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Children from kindergarten through fifth grade and their parents are invited to the Beaver Falls campus to experience demonstrations and participate in activities in science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM).

STEAM Night is an evening for elementary school children and their parents to explore the arts and sciences. It is brought to the community by Geneva’s Education faculty and students. Education Chair, Dr. Adel Aiken says, “At Geneva, we believe that educating for life must include classes in both the arts and the sciences. STEAM Night allows our students and faculty to bring this philosophy to life for our Beaver County neighbors through engaging opportunities that range from trying musical instruments to observing what a 3D printer can do.”

Among the dozen or so demonstrations and activities, children will be able to:

  • Build an airplane
  • Plant a flower to take home
  • Play life-size Sudoku
  • Explore electricity and magnetism

Questions can be addressed by email or phone to Dr. Aiken at aaiken@geneva.edu or 724-847-6535.
