(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – The Education Department in cooperation with the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Music, and Physics held its first STEAM event for area elementary children on March 16, 2018

There were over 200 children and family members who participated in various exploration and demonstration stations in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.  The Geneva Student Education Association, under the leadership of Megan Keul helped to staff the event and many education majors took part in running the stations alongside the professors. Mrs. Kathy Austin was instrumental in gathering the cooperation of everyone in the sciences who were involved. As reported by one Beaver Falls mom, “My family and I had a great time. Students and faculty were welcoming, friendly and kind.  It can be hard to find events that accommodate a highly active child with a short attention span but working with clay, planting a flower and watching chemistry experiments kept her engaged.  Thank you again for a great event!”
