(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – The Education Department in cooperation with the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Music, and Physics held its first STEAM event for area elementary children on March 16, 2018

Drs. Aiken, Belcastro, Heisey, and Schmalz attended the biennial conference of the International Christian Community of Teacher Educators in Abilene, Texas on May 21-24, 2018. Dr. Belcastro presented a paper titled Inclusion: A Christian Approach to Creating Hospitable Classrooms for Students with Disabilities. Drs. Aiken, Heisey, and Schmalz presented one titled Being Guest & Host in Classroom & Community.

Dr. Belcastro presented a paper titled Beyond Student Teaching: The Influence of a Case Study on In-Service Teachers' Reading Instruction at the 61st Annual Meeting of the Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers Conference in St. Petersburg, FL in October, 2017.
