(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) -- Geneva College will welcome Dr. Robert A. J. Gagnon as a guest speaker on Wednesday, October 3 at 7 p.m. in Northwood Hall. Gagnon’s speech is entitled, “A Critique of LGBTQ Revisionist Interpretations of Romans 1: 26-27” and focuses on how the Bible addresses same-sex attraction.

Gagnon earned a bachelor of arts at Dartmouth College, a Masters of Divinity at Harvard Divinity School and his Ph.D. at the Princeton Theological Seminary. Gagnon is also the writer of The Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and Hermeneutics, which is considered to be the most important study of scripture on such an issue. He has served as tenured professor of New Testament studies at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. At present, he is working on publications on homosexuality, New Testament spirituality and Paul’s letter to the Romans. He is a popular conference speaker in North American and around the world.

Gagnon brings understanding to what the Bible says about same-sex attraction and sexual ethics, topics of much discussion in the changing social environment in which we live. His discourse is intended to provide some clarity to college students about the biblical view of the issue and encourage those who may struggle with same-sex attraction.
