College urges Geneva alumni, family and friends to post on social media with #GenevaSpiritDay

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College will host its first ever National Geneva Spirit Day on October 4, 2018, during Homecoming Week. Geneva’s Office of Alumni Relations requests the on-campus community to don their favorite Geneva gear and gather at 3:30 p.m. on the lawn of Old Main for an all-campus photo shoot. Freeze pops are free to all who participate. In the case of rain, the event will be held in the upper Metheny gymnasium.

This event is national, and the college invites Geneva community members throughout the country to show their school spirit by wearing Geneva gear and taking/posting photos on social media using the hashtag #GenevaSpiritDay. Geneva claims over 27,000 alumni living throughout the world.

Geneva Director of Alumni Relations, Kelly Sanzari says, “When people express their affection for Geneva College, it strengthens the entire community and builds connections between alumni and current students. National Geneva Spirit Day is a wonderful opportunity to continue to build up our national and global family.”

Homecoming Week begins October 1 and is a fun-filled time of games, food, guest speakers and Geneva spirit. Student activities include Mario Kart on Memorial Lawn, Klondikes in the Courtyard on Wednesday, October 3, and the Student Government Bonfire at Pearce Overlook on Friday, October 5. For alumni, the All Alumni Dinner is Friday evening where five alumni will be recognized for their continued commitment to the College, their communities and service to others. There are also many reunions taking place all weekend long for class years, departments and other campus organizations.

Geneva College is a Christ-centered academic community that provides a comprehensive education to equip students for faithful and fruitful service to God and neighbor.
