(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College highlights the M.A. in Counseling program for prospective students with an Information Session on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in Northwood Hall, Room 218. The session takes place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with a light buffet and an optional class starting at 6 p.m.

Counseling faculty, enrollment managers, current counseling students and counseling alumni will attend to answer questions and help with the decision and application process. Those interested can register for the information session at Geneva.edu/counseling/infosessions or by calling the Counseling Enrollment Manager at 724-847-6697.

Geneva offers three focusses in their M.A. in Counseling program: Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling; and School Counseling.  Each program requires 60-credits and is designed in accordance with national counselor certification and state licensure standards and provides students with academic training necessary to become professional counselors

All students receive exposure to core knowledge of the counseling profession, which includes developmental theory, career development, assessment, research, ethics, multicultural awareness, counseling theory and group work, as well as training in the skills of helping. All students participate in a 10-hour group laboratory designed to train facilitators. Each student receives intense individual and group clinical supervision during practicum and a 600-hour internship.

All three M.A. in Counseling Programs tracks are offered in their entirety at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. Other classes are also offered at the Regional Learning Alliance Center in Cranberry Township, PA, which is a short 15-mile drive from the Geneva College campus.

Two additional information sessions will be held at the Cranberry Regional Learning Alliance on Thursday, March 21, and Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
