(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College invites alumni, students and friends to join the 2019 March Matchness gift challenge to double the impact of their giving. For every monetary gift to the college in the month of March, the Geneva College Advancement Board and Board of Trustees will match dollar-for-dollar up to $160,000.

Dedicated to furthering Christian higher education, board members donate personal funds to fulfill their commitment to the challenge. In 2013, the "March Matchness" theme, based on college basketball's March Madness, was chosen to reflect Geneva′s identification as the Birthplace of College Basketball, dating back to the early 1890s.

At its origin, the goal for March Matchness was $100,000, and last year raised funds exceeded three times that amount. This year, with a total goal of $320,000, the money will be used to help with expenses not covered by student tuition. These funds support virtually every area of life at the college, inside and outside the classroom, impacting all aspects of the student experience. Student activities, faculty enhancement, scholarships and campus beautification and equipment are just some of the areas in which these donations are used to advance the college mission of service to God and neighbor.

Geneva College President, Calvin Troup, PhD, states that by joining this challenge, “you can maximize your commitment for Christ-centered education, where God is at work, raising up a new generation of servant-leaders.”

All donations given during March can be made at Geneva’s March Matchness gift program website. The college also accepts noncash charitable contributions, such as stock certificates or other appreciated securities. These can be made to Geneva’s Office of Institutional Advancement at 724-847-6514. For questions about gift-making, contact Director of Development, Kelli McKee, at 724-847-6526 or kelli.mckee@geneva.edu.
