(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College announces a National Day of Prayer Breakfast will take place on Thursday, May 2 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Alexander Hall. The theme is LOVE ONE ANOTHER, based upon John 13:34, which challenges Americans to love one another as Christ loves – sacrificially, willfully and unconditionally.

Geneva College Professor of Christian Ministry and Philosophy, Terry Thomas, PhD, will deliver the keynote address. Prayer will be offered for the seven centers of influence in America: government, military, media arts, business, education, church and family.

Geneva′s prayer breakfast is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public. No registration is required. A free-will offering will benefit local Christ-centered charities.

The National Day of Prayer, held on the first Thursday of every May, has been acknowledged by Congress as an annual event since it was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1952. It strives to emphasize the nation′s love and dependence on God.
