Geneva Improves Ranking on Kiplinger’s 2019 Best Private College Value List 

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College has been named one of Kiplinger’s 2019 Best Private College Values, rising in its category rank by 20 spots since last year. Of 177 private universities on the list, Geneva ranks No. 59 nationally, No. 16 in the Mid-Atlantic region and No. 5 in Pennsylvania. The college’s overall placement improved within Kiplinger’s 400 private and public schools of value, as well, up 70 positions to No. 190.

Introduced in 1998, Kiplinger’s rankings are based on criteria that, considered together, equal an assessment of value. All schools on the list meet Kiplinger’s standard of value: a high-quality education at an affordable price. New considerations for this year’s rankings include; five- and six-year graduation rates, graduation of students with financial need and consistency of first-year to subsequent year financial aid packages. It also looked at student-to-faculty ratios, and freshman retention rates.

Regarding value, Geneva’s sticker price – the price families actually pay for a year of college – is nearly 21% lower than the average sticker price for private nonprofit colleges, according to data from Kiplinger’s website.
