Geneva College Marks Reformation Week with Ministerial, Mission Events

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College will mark the anniversary of the Protestant Reformation with a series of events during Reformation Week, October 26 through November 1. The ministerial and mission events include a Reformation Worship Service and pastor’s luncheon with Dr. Joseph A. Pipa, a Lecture on Zwingli by Dr. Byron Curtis and a Missions Conference featuring an opening message by Pastor Andrew Brunson of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, who was returned to the United States in 2018 after a two-year imprisonment in Turkey.

The Reformation Worship Service will be held in Metheny Fieldhouse on Sunday, October 27 at 6 p.m. and is open to the public. Joseph A. Pipa, MDiv, PhD, DD, president and professor of Systematic and Homiletical Theology at Greenville (SC) Presbyterian Theological Seminary will preach God’s word.

Geneva Bible Professor Byron Curtis, MDiv, PhD, an expert in Old Testament studies and biblical Hebrew, will discourse on “Something Bold for God: Huldrych Zwingli at 500,” on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. in Skye Lounge, Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Pastor Andrew Brunson, MDiv, PhD, of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, who spent two years as a prisoner of the Turkish government, delivers the opening message of the Geneva College Missions Conference on Thursday, October 31 at 6 p.m. in John White Chapel, Old Main.  A reception in Old Main lobby will follow Rev. Brunson’s message. The conference features a Missions Fair with workshops and representatives from mission organizations on Friday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Skye Lounge, Student Center and in various locations around the Geneva campus. All events at the Missions Conference are free to the public and no registration is required.
