(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) — Geneva College announces a goal of $25,000 in donations to the Geneva Fund from 150 donors on Giving Tuesday, a day of philanthropy set for Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019. DONATE >>

The college has participated in Giving Tuesday since 2013 and surpassed its goals in each of the past several years. Due to this enthusiastic participation from alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students, Geneva’s Institutional Advancement Office set a new, higher goal for 2019. The Geneva College Board of Trustees has also announced that its members will match gifts, dollar for dollar, up to the goal on Giving Tuesday.

The Geneva Fund helps fill the gap for operating expenses not covered by tuition, room and board. The fund is the largest source of unrestricted funding for the institution, enabling donations to immediately be used where they are needed most. The Geneva Fund supports scholarships, campus beautification and equipment, student activities, faculty enhancement, and other top priorities outlined in the Geneva College Strategic Plan.

“Every gift of every size makes an impact,” says Calvin L. Troup, Ph.D., President of Geneva College.

On-campus students who want to participate can stop by the lobby of Alexander Dining Hall during the lunch or dinner hours to donate and celebrate with music, give-a-ways and other activities.

The annual social media event, #GivingTuesday, is celebrated internationally the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The trend encourages individual charitable donations to nonprofit organizations.
