Listen to the “Joy!” Broadcast—Airing this Christmas Season

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa) — The best of The Genevans’ 2019 Christmas Concerts will be aired on WORD-FM, 101.5 FM / www.wordfm.com at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 and on WBVP 99.3 FM/1230 AM and WMBA 1460 AM at 1 p.m. and at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25. The a capella, student choir of Geneva College sang of the good news of Christ’s birth in “Joy!,” which was recorded at First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls on Dec. 6-7 and will be broadcast for audiences in the greater Pittsburgh area.

This is the Genevans’ 82nd straight concert season. The theme “Joy!” is a further refinement of the choir’s spring theme, “Rejoice in Glory.” Director Dr. David K. Smith explains simply, “One of the main themes of Christmas is joy — so there is a lot of joyful Christmas music!”

The Genevans choir exists to glorify God and minister to people through the gift of music. Founded in 1938, the choir continues a rich heritage of choral singing dating from the early years of the college over a century and a half ago. The mission of The Genevans is to engage audiences while glorifying God and ministering with important spiritual truth. Over the course of their long history, The Genevans have acquired a reputation for choral excellence, musical variety and spiritual impact.
