Cultural Event to Feature Live Music, Spoken Word and Local Artwork

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) — The Geneva College Center for Student Engagement (CSE) will host the Ninth Annual Night of the Arts in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 20, 2020 in Skye Lounge, Student Center. This free cultural event is open to everyone and celebrates Dr. King’s life and legacy through the arts.

The event begins at 7 p.m. with a dessert reception for attendees. The formal portion of the program begins at 7:30 p.m. and features Geneva and community members performing music, spoken word, oral presentations and artwork. The Terry Levels Jazz Band will provide music. Dr. Anthony Turner, V.P. of Enrollment and Marketing at Geneva, will emcee the event and deliver a reflection.

Kristie Martel, Coordinator of Diversity and Inclusion, says, “The Center for Student Engagement hosts the Night of the Arts to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We come together as a community to remember his courage, strength and unwavering commitment to justice and attaining equality for all. Compelled by his deep Christian conviction, Dr. King inspires us to continue to work toward justice and racial reconciliation.”
