(BEAVER FALLS, Pa) — In celebration of their musical growth, two students will perform recitals. A junior piano recital will be performed by Yu “Alice” Zhang on February 28 at 7 p.m. in John White Chapel and a senior voice recital by will be sung Annie Dawson on February 29 at 4 p.m. also in John White Chapel.

The music students from each of the three music majors, Music, Musical Education and Music Business, perform in many capacities throughout the year, but for Musical Education majors, like Zhang, these recitals are an important part of the curriculum. This piano recital is a benchmark of her accomplishment.

Dawson, a Communication and Music major, has decided to perform a senior recital to celebrate her time with Geneva’s Music Department. She illustrates this by saying, “I'm doing my senior recital for the pure enjoyment of it. It's a celebration of the musical growth I have experienced at Geneva, and a thank you to all those who have helped me get here.”

The Music Department at Geneva College strives to prepare graduates to critique musical life from a Christian perspective and transform it into a Biblical pattern. Recitals and other public performances are one way they fulfill this mission.
