(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College will welcome Dr. J. Ligon Duncan III, Chancellor/CEO of Reformed Theological Seminary, as commencement speaker addressing traditional undergraduates of the class of 2020 at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Reeves Field. Dr. William Glaze, Chairman of the Board at the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry, will speak to graduates of adult degree and graduate degree programs at 3 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse.

Duncan, who is also John E. Richards Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology, has authored, co-authored, edited or contributed to more than 35 books, including, "The Underestimated Gospel" (B&H, 2014) and "The Unadjusted Gospel" (Crossway, 2014). Duncan co-founded Together for the Gospel (T4G), a biennial conference for pastors and church leaders. He is Senior Fellow of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and was President of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals from 2004-2012. He studied at Furman University, Greenville, SC (BA); Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis (M.Div., MA, cum laude); and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (Ph.D.). He and his wife Anne reside in Jackson, MS.

Geneva will host “Wisdom & Tea with Dr. Ligon Duncan” for pastors and church staff at 2 p.m., Friday, May 8, in the Benedum Room, Alexander Hall. The event is free, but registration is required at: www.geneva.edu/duncan. The deadline to register is April 24.

Graduate and adult degree commencement speaker Dr. William Glaze is the Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Pittsburgh and host of “Anchored in Jesus,” a daily radio broadcast. Glaze has pastored in several states, taught theology and coached football at Liberty University. He served as chaplain for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox Minor League teams. His is the author of five books, including, “Laying a Firm Foundation for the Covenant of Marriage” (Movement Publishing, 2016). He and his wife Angie live in Pittsburgh, PA.

A baccalaureate worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 8, in Metheny Fieldhouse. The message will be delivered by Rev. Dr. Richard Holdeman, Senior Lecturer in Biology at Indiana University (Bloomington) and pastor at Bloomington Reformed Presbyterian Church.
