Academic Convocation Kicks Off New Academic Year

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) -- The Geneva College community kicks off the Fall 2020 semester at Reeves Field on Wednesday, August 26, with the traditional Academic Convocation Ceremony. Faculty members in formal academic regalia will welcome first-year students at 10:10 a.m. A livestream of the event is available at facebook.com/genevacollege

(In case of rain, Convocation will take place on Friday, Aug. 28 at 10:10 a.m.)

All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to:

  • wear their Geneva Strong/Storm On shirts and Geneva face masks
  • join the celebration at 10 a.m. along the pedestrian walkway down to the stadium.
  • maintain physical distance

Photos and drone footage will be taken of our campus community united and standing together, while compliant with physical distance and other guidelines.

FULL-TIME FACULTY will assemble in the Old Main Circle, wearing their shirts and academic regalia.

FRESHMEN / NEW STUDENTS will assemble with their LEARNING & TRANSITION MENTORS along the pedestrian walkway.

UPPERCLASSMEN will assemble on the grassy hillside along the pedestrian walkway all the way down to the stadium to celebrate and welcome the freshmen and new students. 

STAFF MEMBERS are encouraged to join with the upperclassmen on the grassy hillside along the pedestrian walkway all the way down to the stadium to celebrate and welcome the freshmen and new students.
