Geneva Offering Flu Shot Clinic on Campus in September and October

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College has greatly expanded the opportunities for its community to participate in a flu shot clinic on campus this year. There will be 10 different clinic opportunities hosted by Giant Eagle Pharmacy starting Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon and recurring throughout September and October.

Geneva College students, as well as faculty, staff and family members age nine and older are welcome to participate. One form of picture ID, a medical insurance card, copay (if applicable), and a filled-out Screening Questionnaire and Consent form (provided by Giant Eagle Pharmacy and available at www.geneva.edu/student-life/services/health-services/flu-clinic) are required to receive a flu shot. Participants who bring a Giant Eagle Advantage Card will receive five dollars in credit on their card.

The clinic will be available at the following times, dates and locations:

  • 10 a.m. – noon, Tuesday, Sept. 8 in Alexander Hall
  • 3 – 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14 in Skye Lounge
  • 11 a.m. – 1:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17 in Skye Lounge
  • 1 – 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24 in Alexander Hall
  • 9 – 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 25 in Skye Lounge
  • 9 – 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2 in Skye Lounge
  • 10 a.m. – noon, Tuesday, Oct. 6 in Skye Lounge
  • 3 – 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14 in Alexander Hall
  • 2 – 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22 in Skye Lounge
  • 9 – 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26 in Alexander Hall

Director of Health Services and Physician Assistant Beth Carlson, MPAS, PA-C says, “The flu vaccine is very important to the health of our campus community, both by preventing the spread of the flu and by helping us to more effectively prevent the spread of COVID-19. We want as many people as possible to get a flu shot so we can properly diagnose symptoms if we see any.”

Flu shots are covered by most insurance plans.  Under the insurance plan for employees of Geneva College, co-insurance & deductibles will apply.  If covered by another plan, please consult your plan booklet for coverage details. Please note that minors (under 18 years of age) will be required to have a parent or guardian sign the screening questionnaire.
