(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College announces a new policy that makes standardized test score submission optional for 2021-2022 applicants due to COVID-19 test center restrictions.

For most students applying to Geneva College for the 2021-2022 academic school year, submission of standardized test scores from the SAT, ACT or CLT is optional. Many standardized testing centers around the country remain closed or at capacity due to COVID-19, making it more difficult to take tests. Geneva’s new test-optional policy recognizes the challenge this situation creates for students and will now allow them to receive admission and scholarships without standardized tests.

Details about the test-optional policy and other requirements are posted on the Geneva College website at: https://www.geneva.edu/admissions/admission_requirements

For purposes other than admission, standardized tests are required for nursing, education and engineering majors and for students seeking inclusion in the Geneva College Honors Program. Scores may be submitted after students have received admission and prior to enrollment.

International students must still submit standardized test results with information available on the International Student Admissions page. (https://www.geneva.edu/admissions/international/international_application_instructions)

Additionally, some students may wish to include standardized test scores with an application to support an increase in academic scholarship amount. Merit-based scholarships may only increase, they will not be reduced after scores are submitted.

Submission of standardized test scores are strongly recommended for students who need the scores to determine placement and proficiency in math and English prior to admission to the college.

When submitting test scores, Geneva officials urge test-takers to request that testing services send official scores directly to the Geneva College Admissions Office.

Geneva's application for admission remains free and does not require an essay submission.
