BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College Theater Program will present two radio-play productions for the 2020 fall season, Vintage Hitchcock and It’s a Wonderful Life.

Vintage Hitchcock, an adaptation by Joe Landry of three of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic films, is directed by Geneva Theater Program director Mindy Williams and will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on October 29-31. Following will be It’s a Wonderful Life, another radio-play by Landry and based on Frank Capra’s classic film of the same name, which is also directed by Williams and will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on November 12-14.

Each production provides a unique opportunity for exploring what it means to find ways of being together even when physically apart. They explore the full range of human experience from terror and tragedy to love and friendship, and each uniquely highlights the impact of every individual’s actions on the lives around them.

Geneva College students will study new methods of acting as they navigate the nuances of a show that captivates the imagination primarily through the art of sound. The Geneva College Theater Program is excited to bring joy to audiences this fall as we embark on a new journey at the Bagpiper Theater.

Williams says she is excited for the unique opportunities offered in the upcoming season, and how “Geneva students will have so many chances to grow as actors and people as we navigate the challenges brought by trying to pursue theater during a pandemic. We have a lot of amazing students, and I think they are up to the task of making amazing shows that will bring these classic stories into the homes of the audience.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will no in-house admission. However, the shows will be live-streamed and available for viewing at no cost.
