(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College Pittsburgh Campus at the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry announces The Church and Her Mission course in two parts: free webinar from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, January 30, 2021 and an in-person, three-week course from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, April 10, 17, and 24, 2021 at Allegheny Center Alliance Church, Pittsburgh, PA.

The course covers questions like, Who are we as the people of God? What is the Church? Why are we here? What is the mission? What is “missions,” and what does this look like in the local church?

The Rev. Dr. Rich Noble, BPS Program Coordinator at Geneva College Pittsburgh Campus and author of the book “On Mission Together: Integrating Mission into the Local Church” (Falls City Press) teaches the course, which offers enrichment and practical learning on missions in the local church. The weekly lessons are “The Biblical Basis for Missions,” “A Brief History of Missions,” and “The History of the Future of Christian Missions.”

Noble says, "It is incredibly important for the Church to understand who we are as God's people and our intimate connection with the mission in which Jesus has asked us to engage - not only worshiping and following, but going out and making disciples among all peoples in every generation until King Jesus returns. With this webinar and mini course, we at the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry want to do our part to equip the Church to fulfill the mission and task set before us."

The three-week course costs $15/person, and participants completing it will receive a certificate. To learn more about the course and to register, go to: https://www.geneva.edu/pittsburgh/churchmission.
