(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – The Geneva College Theater Program announces a radio-play presentation of “Treasure Island,” adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel by student actor Laura Miller and directed by Geneva Theater Program director, Mindy Williams, with performances at 7:30 p.m. on March 11-13.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no in-house admission. However, the shows will be live-streamed and available for viewing at no cost.

The adventure explored in the piece give us an opportunity to reflect on human curiosity and wonder, as well as the dangers that come when we enter new territory. They push us to imagine new ways of doing things and encourage the creative process that equips us to overcome challenges that face us with a dash of whimsy and swashbuckling courage by turning the world on its head and reminding us that things are not always what they appear to be. Geneva College students will grow their talents in vocal acting as they navigate the nuances of a show that captivates the imagination primarily through the art of sound. The Geneva College Theater Program is excited to bring joy to our audiences this spring as we delve into these stories of adventure in far off lands.

The last show of the season will be the annual “Student Directed One Acts,” an evening of one act plays directed and performed by Geneva College students. Williams will oversee the student directed production on dates and times to be released soon.
