(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College named Judy Willson ‘88 as new Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions. She will direct recruitment efforts for Geneva’s master’s degree programs in business administration (MBA), counseling, cybersecurity and higher education.

“As a Geneva College graduate” Willson says, “I am excited to help advance the college that launched my career and promote the Christian education that I believe in. I understand Geneva’s mission based on the Reformed faith in Christian education and believe that being a part of the admissions team leads to helping people find their way and discover God’s calling into a particular field.”

Willson arrives from Louisiana State University (LSU), where she served as the NCAA Division I powerhouse’s Associate Athletics Communication Director. She has more than 30 years of experience in collegiate athletics communication, working at both the athletic conference level - Mountain West, Sun Belt, Lone Star and Mid-America Collegiate Athletics Association – and at the institution level – LSU, University of New Mexico, University of Louisiana-Monroe, University of Denver, Eastern New Mexico University, Pittsburg State University and Northwest Missouri State University.

Willson was President (2015-2016) and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for 11 years. In 2020, she received that organization’s Arch Ward Award. Her other current memberships include Women Leaders in College Sports, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, United States Basketball Writers Association and Football Writers Association of America. She has also coordinated the media operations of NCAA postseason events in a variety of sports and divisions between 1991 and 2021.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in public relations and business administration at Geneva, she earned her Master of Science degree in physical education with an emphasis in sports administration at Eastern New Mexico University.
