(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College announces G. Scott Madeira ’87 will transition from his part-time role to full-time Associate Professor of Computer Science, beginning this fall.

Madeira graduated from Geneva College with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1987. He completed a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland (College Park, MD) in 1993.

Since 2015, Madeira has been a part-time faculty lecturer at Geneva, teaching engineering and computer science courses, including HTML and CSS, web development, cloud and mobile computing applications, and database systems. From 2013-2014, he provided training on networking fundamentals, server setup, and WordPress installation and configuration through The Resumator.

Madeira has extensive experience in the computer networking industry, starting at IBM from 1987-1995 as a software and networking developer. He joined FORE Systems in 1995 as the Director of Technical Support and Applications, and served as VP of Global Technology from 2000-2001. He has since worked for KidSport Software LLC, UPMC – BioTronics/Procirca, and The Resumator, and has also worked as an independent software development consultant.

He says, “I love Geneva and being a member of the faculty has been a dream since I graduated a long time ago. As I transition from part-time to full-time, the dream has come true. God is good.”

Madeira is an administrative pastor for Grace Community Church in Cranberry Township, PA. He is married to Jean Madeira, and has three adult children (Nick, John and Chris).
