(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – The McCartney Society virtual book club will meet on Thursday, August 19 at 7 p.m. ET for its summer reading series discussion on “Longing to Know: The Philosophy of Knowledge for Ordinary People” by the Professor Emerita Dr. Esther L. Meek. The gathering of alumni and friends will discuss chapters 1 to 6.

The 2021 summer reading series includes book selections that highlight one or more Geneva College core values with online discussions taking place the third Thursday of each month. The McCartney Society virtual book club gathers alumni and friends of Geneva College to discuss great works of literature to cultivate practical wisdom for the Christian life. The McCartney Society seeks to continue the conversations begun in Geneva’s Humanities core curriculum, providing edification and fellowship for graduates and friends of the college as they navigate their callings in the marketplace, the academy and the church.
