Geneva College announces Joy Ike, a singer-songwriter and artist coach based out of Philadelphia, PA, will be a part of the Geneva Visiting Artists and Lecture Series (GVALS) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, and 10:10 a.m., Friday, February 25 in John White Chapel of Old Main. The college invites the public to join the campus in attending.

In 2008, Ike left her career as a publicist and since then has played thousands of shows across the country. She began playing music while in college, particularly gravitating toward piano, which aided her in her greatest passion of all – songwriting.

Ike, the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, uses music to not only process but also enter meaningful conversations. Ike uses her background in publishing to teach workshops on branding, marketing, and showing how to use one’s own authentic story to engage that audience.
