(Beaver Falls, PA) - Geneva College will premiere “Hosanna to the King” Alumni Benefit Concert featuring Michael Kearney and special guest Gert van Hoef at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022, on YouTube. The pipe organ and piano concert benefits the college’s COVID-19 Project Fund through online, free-will donations at GenevaCollegeFoundation.org/hosannaconcert.

Recorded in the historic First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, the concert features organist, pianist, composer and 2017 Geneva alumnus Michael Kearney, a native of Long Island, NY. The benefit recital will include old and new compositions, highlighting psalms and hymns in a variety of styles, and will conclude with Kearney’s arrangement of “Jupiter, the Bringer of Jolity,” from Holst’s The Planets. Additional Geneva alumni are involved in the production and distribution of the concert.

Also included in the production is a duet of Stephen Adams’ “The Holy City,” on piano and organ between Kearney and Dutch composer and organist Gert van Hoef.

The $1 Million COVID-19 Project Fund helps the college weather the significant financial costs of carrying out its mission under pandemic conditions.
