(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College will mark the graduation of 347 undergraduate, graduate, and adult degree program students during Commencement ceremonies this Saturday, May 7. A Baccalaureate service is scheduled for Friday, May 6. All events will be livestreamed on Geneva’s YouTube channel, accessible at geneva.edu/commencement.

The Rev. Dr. Kevin DeYoung, Senior Pastor of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC, will speak to traditional undergraduates of the class of 2022 at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, at Metheny Fieldhouse. His address is titled “Whatever You Do, Do Not Be True to Yourself.”

Geneva College Alumni Relations and Geneva President, Dr. Calvin L. Troup will recognize three alumni during the undergraduate ceremony as “Life G” Award recipients: the Rev. Dr. Jerry O’Neill ’69 and posthumously Paul ’67 and Joy (Morgan ‘68) Jewell. The “Life G” Award is the highest alumni honor bestowed by the college for service above self, embodiment of Geneva principles, and exemplary efforts on behalf of Geneva, community, and nation.

Adult degree, master’s degree, and Pittsburgh Campus graduates will hear from alumnus Charles “Mick” Jones ’08, MSOL ‘11, Beaver Falls City Manager, at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in Metheny Fieldhouse. His speech is titled “Service with a Smile.” Graduate degree program directors will hood the new master’s degree graduates during the ceremony.

In-person receptions will follow both ceremonies under tents and the new pavilion in the center of campus near Old Main and McCartney Library.

A Baccalaureate service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6, in Metheny Fieldhouse. The message, “Decisions, Decisions!,” will be delivered by the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Stivason, Pastor of Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church in Gibsonia, PA. Led by Dr. David Kenneth Smith, Geneva’s student choir, The Genevans, will sing during the prelude, processional, call to worship, and benediction response.
