Geneva College has launched its fully online Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) in Healthcare Administration, a degree program purposefully designed for adult learners who desire to navigate today’s complex healthcare environment with ethical and effective leadership. Rooted in Geneva’s Christ-centered mission, this program integrates healthcare management, organizational leadership, and business fundamentals. The first class of students will start their studies in the fall of 2026.
The BPS in Healthcare Administration responds to the increasing demand for skilled administrators who can provide essential leadership and management skills, navigate the fast-paced healthcare system, and support quality patient care. For professionals looking to advance or pivot within the healthcare field, this program invites students to bring their real-world experience to the classroom. The new program builds on the expanding healthcare and nursing programs at Geneva College and will connect students to exceptional faculty who have a broad range of experiences in the healthcare field.
“Geneva College is uniquely situated in a region shaped by a wide range of healthcare systems that serve local communities in meaningful ways. Our healthcare administration program is designed to prepare students to step into those organizations as thoughtful, ethical leaders,” says Hannah George, director of online programs and curriculum. “We want our graduates to see healthcare administration not just as a career, but as a calling to steward people, systems, and resources well for the good of others.”
This 120-credit program incorporates 18 core credits, 66 elective credits ranging from biblical studies to psychology courses, and 36 major specific credits — including courses such as Legal Issues in Healthcare, Foundations of Christian Thought, Quantitative Analysis, and Population Health. Students may be eligible for up to 84 transfer credits, and can pair an 18-credit minor with the major, choosing from other programs offered through Geneva’s Online Degree Programs.
“The bachelor’s in healthcare administration provides a pathway for professionals seeking to serve as compassionate and highly trained professionals in the world of healthcare,” says Willem de Ruijter, MAHE ‘15, vice president of enrollment and marketing. “We’re excited to offer this new program for adult learners, providing biblically grounded coursework that combines practical knowledge with a critical understanding of the humanities.”
Program participants will work directly with an academic advisor to develop a custom degree plan factoring in life commitments, financial aid eligibility, and transfer credits, helping all students to thrive on their path to earning a BPS in Healthcare Administration.
